About

Festivals of Vietnam is a vehicle to explore the concept of festivals, ceremonies, processions and rituals in Vietnam.

The initial concept for Festivals of Vietnam was to create a database of free-to-access documents detailing ‘festivals’ around Vietnam. At present, the website has a loose structure for investigation and research. As the website grows and the learning process continues, projects will (hopefully) take shape and the website will meander along with the author’s own learning process and curiosities.

Festivals of Vietnam is owned by Luke Digweed, A Vietnam-based independent ‘researcher’*. All work on this website is by Luke, independent and self-funded, unless where stated. Luke is a long-term resident of Vietnam having lived in Hồ Chí Minh City, Huế and Đà Nẵng. He is a writing contributor for Vietnam’s biggest independent travel guide Vietnam Coracle and is the owner of the blog Hue Grit (formerly Huế Grit Tour).

Luke uses a Fujifilm X-S10 camera with the lenses viltrox 23mm (f1.4) and Fujifilm XF 16-80mm (f/4).
